St. Thomas is one of the most accessible islands in the Caribbean. Air service to St. Thomas is among the best of any Caribbean destination. Our main airport is Cyril E. King International Airport (STT), which receives daily non-stop flights from most major U.S. airlines including American, United, Continental, Delta, and Spirit. This airport allows easy access and non-stop service from Chicago, Detroit, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and San Juan.

If you are a U.S. citizen, you do not need a passport to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands. However, if you have one, bring it with you. The U.S. Virgin Islands are a port of entry to the mainland United States so, although it is easy to get here, keep in mind that you are re-entering the U.S. when you leave. If you don’t have a passport, a birth certificate or voter registration card (plus photo identification) are required and acceptable.

  • Slight left at Airport Rd 1.2 km
  • Turn right at Moravian Hwy 0.9 km
  • Continue on Veterans Dr 3.3 km
  • Turn right at Long Bay Rd 0.6 km
  • Turn left at Sugar Estate 0.6 km
  • Turn right at Weymounth Rhymer Hwy 0.6 km
  • Turn right to stay on Weymounth Rhymer Hwy 2.4 km
  • Continue on Smith Bay 0.6 km
  • Turn right to stay on Smith Bay 4.7 km
  • Turn left at Sapphire Beach and Resort 15 m
  • Turn right at Smith Bay Estate
  • Sugar Bay Resort and Spa will be on the right 0.2 km

ROOMS AVAILABE FOR INDIVIDUALS COMPANIES INVOLVED IN CONSTRUCTION, RELIEF, RECOVERY, ASSESSMENT AND OTHER BUSNIESS RELATED: Due to damages sustained by two category 5 hurricanes, Irma and Maria, in September 2017, the Sugar Bay Resort and Spa will be closed most of 2018 & 2019. At this time we are not able to determine our re-opening date. Sugar Bay does have a small block of rooms with limited services available for Recovery Personnel only (conditions apply).
